Background

My first encounter with geneology research was in the early 70's, when my grandfather (Harold Clifford Knopp) began researching the Knopp family history. I can remember at least a few occasions when he would ask me to rewrite his notes because he said he liked my handwriting. I was only 10 or 11 at the time and some of my best memories of my grandfather are during this time. After he passed away in 1974, my aunt (Anna Deane (Knopp) Casto) continued the research. My aunt has done a great job on my mother's side of the family, but we never knew much about my father's side. Recently, my brother's, sister, and I have started working on the Buckley lines. The result of that effort is what you will find on these pages. I hope to keep adding to this, as new information is found.

Acknowledgements

I have several people to thank for information they have provided:

Bill Beckett for the majority of the John Beckett descendent line.

Dianna (Lockhart) Stokes for various information on the Hickman/Fox lines.

Ed Burton for the majority of the William Amoss descendent line.Visit Ed Burton's Geneology page for more information on Ed's family.

Frank Buckley for an amazing amount of information. I had a link here to his web page that had a lot more information. The link no longer works. I will try to incorporate the information he gave me into my page.

My sister, Julia (Buckley) Moreland for extensive research on the Siers, Roberts, Leek, Laflen, Rush, and Judge lines.

My brother, Charles Buckley for information on just about every line. He seems to be able to find information no one else can. One of these days maybe he'll show me how he does it.

I have also gathered a lot of information from the Wood County WV History, and the Monroe Co. OH History. Both books were published by the Geneological Society in their respective counties and contain extensive information on some of my lines.
